А все просто. Система SIPS Side Impact Protection System (Система СЗБУ — система защиты от бокового удара) состоит из усиленных дверных секций, дверных стоек и взаимодействующих перекрестно ориентированных деталей пола, сидений и крыши. Система предназначена для снижения риска травмы при боковом столкновении посредством:
— Снижения скорости, с которой борт кузова вдавливается в салон. Детали кузова распределяют силы ударного воздействия по большой поверхности, таким образом, поглощая их.
— Сведения к минимуму глубины вдавливания деталей кузова в салон. Детали усиления кузова и усиленные боковые детали пола и сидений, расположенные в наиболее уязвимых местах, снижают скорость вдавливания и передают силу удара на противоположную сторону. Таким образом, деформация снижается до минимума и сохраняется пространство выживания в салоне.
— Уменьшения силы удара находящегося в автомобиле человека о внутреннюю сторону двери. Поглощающие энергию элементы дверей уменьшают силу удара о дверь посредством рассеивания энергии по всей поверхности зоны, где находится человек.
SIPS
На рисунке показано распределение силы удара по кузову. Элемент крыши и часть центральной стойки изготовлены из борсодержащей стали. Это особая высокопрочная сталь HSS/борсодержащая сталь. Эта сталь обладает повышенными значениями предела текучести и предела прочности при растяжении. Использование стали HSS обусловлено рядом причин:

What do safety regulations say about side impact protection?
Older safety standards, like the ECE R44/04, are not tested for side-impact collisions. You can be reassured that all Maxi-Cosi car seats exceed this standard and do offer side impact protection. For other brands, you’ll need to double-check.

Airwrap Side Protection System (SPS)
Keeps the dummy in the cot, is safe and breathable. A lot less jammed limbs with it on, and protected his head from knocks against the wood of the cot as he slept.
Kept the dummy and comforter in, better sleeps without jammed arms and banged heads.
A bit fiddly to deal with putting on, need to take it off when adjusting cot height, fiddly when changing sheets in a cot, and when baby gets a bit older they may use it as leverage to climb out!

Knowing that cot bumpers are no longer recommended I wanted something that would prevent bub from getting caught in the cot bars, yet was safe to use in case she got too close to the edges. This was the perfect solution. My only suggestion would be that it comes in 4 pieces (2 long and 2 short) to allow its use in various types of cots from ones with all 4 side having bars to ones with only bars on the sides and not the head or foot.

I bought this since my baby started rolling around the cot & kept getting stuck or banging her head on the rails and ends. You can also only choose to do one side rather than both since they are separate pieces.
This product definitely makes you feel comfortable knowing if her face is against it she can still breathe and legs won't get stuck between the rails. It is easy to secure, and is really the only option since normal cot bumpers are hard to tie on to fixed end cots or don't fit boori cots.
I also think it's quite reasonably priced compared to a normal cot bumper. Would definitely recommend this product.
