Realme releases stable Android 12 update for Realme 8i, early access for Realme 9 5G

Realme has just released the stable Android 12-centric Realme UI 3.0 update for Realme 8i. The firm had initially started testing the new skin on the 8i in March, last month the device received a more stable version through the open beta program. And now the device is all set to get its first major software upgrade.

Apart from the Realme 8i’s stable Android 12 update. The company has announced Realme UI 3.0 early access program for the Realme 9 5G. The device was launched in March with Android 11 OS and now Realme 9 5G users can taste the new features via an early access program.

The information of new updates has been officially confirmed by Realme on its community forum. Talking about the Realme 8i, then make sure that your smartphone is running on any of the two versions – RMX3151_11.A.41 / RMX3151_11.A.44. As it is a major upgrade, it requires a huge chunk of data for downloading the new update weighing around 4.27GB in size, so make sure you have enough downloading data and around 5-6GB of free space.

Moving to the Realme 9 5G, then if you want to take a part in the early access program, then your smartphone needs to be running on the RMX3388_11.A.06 software version. As always there are only 1500 seats in the program, so try to participate as early as you can. And obviously, make sure your phone has 5-6GB of free space before applying to the beta program.

Before moving ahead, let’s take a look at the features coming with Realme UI 3.0. The new skin will bring features such as new 3D icons, Omoji 3D avatars, AOD 2.0, dynamic theming, new privacy controls, PC connect, and much more. Obviously, users can also access the essentials of Android 12.

If you own Realme 8i or Realme 9 5G, then you can head over to the System Updates in the Settings and check for the new update or early access program (for Realme 9 5G). The stable Android 12 update for Realme 8i is in a rolling phase, it will be available to everyone in the coming days.

Before updating your Realme phone to new version, take a backup of important data to prevent data loss, and make sure that your phone is charged at least 60%. The update will not be available on rooted phones.
